In general a cover letter / application letter should posses 3 main paragrahs in this format
1. The first paragraph should state why you are writing to the company, where you saw or heard about the advertised job and what position you wish to apply for.
2. The second paragraph should state who you are, where you have worked or working at the moment (as regards to work, if you have no job experience there is no need to indicate it in a cover letter) and why you want to work for the company , here indicate what and what you will bring to the table in moving the company forward ( mainly your skill set)
3. The third paragraph usually the last (except you have a lengthy letter) should be your closing paragraph. you can end it with " I will be glad if you consider me for this position. Hope to hear from you soon." or "I will be eternally grateful if you consider me for this position.
